DESCRIPTION:We’ve rescheduled our annual members meeting for Wednesday\, March 24\, at 7:30 pm\, via Zoom. This is the meeting we usually hold at the holiday dinner in December\, where members vote for the election of directors and other business. In addition to the election of directors\, described below\, we’ll have a presentation from Mark Anderson of Hagerty\, who will talk about Hagerty’s insurance for newer vehicles\, its track insurance product\, and the Hagerty Drivers Club. Please join us. We have two director seats up for election this year. Those seats are currently held by Conrad Nagelin and Randy Perry. (Jeff Jones\, Mo Beidoun\, and Noel Mack have just completed the first year of a two-year term\, and their seats will be up for election at the end of this year.) Both Conrad and Randy are running again and ask for your vote. Besides the election of directors\, there aren’t any other issues to be presented to the membership at the meeting. Only members who attend the annual meeting via Zoom or by sending in a proxy can vote. In the past\, we’ve sent proxies to every member\, but we typically received very few back. This is your chance to explore and hone your driving abilities on one of the most entertaining courses in America. \n\n\n\nGrattan’s 2.0 miles of exciting and challenging corners (including a 160 degree hairpin and a downhill reverse camber turn) make it one of the best around. And a recent track resurfacing only further enhances the experience. This school is one of the premier driving events in the Midwest\, combining a challenging track\, excellent instruction\, and an Advanced Solo opportunity. \n\n\n\nAll drivers—young and not so young; novice\, intermediate\, and advanced—are welcome. \n\n\n\nThis year\, the event will be held the weekend of September 18-19\, 2021. It looks great–our friends at Hagerty have put together a great dinner and wonderful program at the Hagerty Garage for the evening. We’re excited that Michiana Chapter will be joining us. DESCRIPTION:We have a NEW family-friendly event for this year—our first Cars & Brats & Hots! Join us at beautiful Hudson Mills Metropark on Sunday\, August 28. Hudson Mills is a wonderful park\, and we’re looking forward to a nice summer Sunday afternoon of great cars\, great food\, and great friends. \n\n\n\nThere’s a $10 park entrance fee (per vehicle)\, and we’ll be at the Pineview picnic shelter. \n\n\n\nWe plan to gather at 11am\, have some coffee and car talk\, and then we’ll fire up the grills about 12:30 for brats and hot dogs. We’ll be providing the brats and hot dogs\, cole slaw and potato salad\, and water. Feel free to BYO beverages and other picnic food if you’d like. \n\n\n\nWe’ll have our picnic shelter for shade\, and the park has a playground for the kids\, walking paths along the Huron River to enjoy\, and a disc golf course. \n\n\n\nDriving tour guru Randy Mason will lead an informal drive later in the afternoon along some of the best back roads in the area\, starting and ending at the park\, so come with a full tank of gas and be ready for some fun with your car! \n\n\n\nPlease send an email to membership@motorcitybmwcca.org to let us know you’re planning to join us\, so we can get a count and do our shopping. DESCRIPTION:It’s time for our flagship high-performance driver’s education (HPDE) school at Grattan Raceway\, near Grand Rapids\, Michigan. This is your chance to explore and hone your driving abilities on one of the most entertaining courses in America. \n\n\n\nGrattan’s 2.0 miles of exciting and challenging corners (including a 160 degree hairpin and a downhill reverse camber turn) make it one of the best around. This school is one of the premier driving events in the Midwest\, combining a challenging track\, excellent instruction\, and an Advanced Solo opportunity. \n\n\n\nAll drivers—young and not so young\, novice\, intermediate\, and advanced—are welcome. \n\n\n\nThis year\, the event will be held the weekend of September 17-18\, 2022. Approved advanced students and instructors are invited to drive on Friday\, September 16. DeutscheMarques is a premier gathering of German cars\, owners\, and enthusiasts at the Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners\, Michigan. For more information about the Gilmore\, visit its website HERE. \n\n\n\nWe’ll get together at 7:30 a.m. at BMW of Ann Arbor for a quick coffee and hello and leave promptly at 8:00 for the show. We’ll take the back roads–it should be about a two-hour trip to the Gilmore\, and you can find the directions HERE. Trophies are awarded at about 2 p.m.\, but people are welcome to stay until the Museum closes at 6. (No formal driving tour for the trip home–you’re on your own!)  \n\n\n\nThis drive is open to Motor City Chapter members and nonmembers alike. And you don’t need a BMW to join us on our trip. DESCRIPTION:Please join us at our second annual Cars & Brats & Hots! We’ll again be at beautiful Hudson Mills Metropark\, this time on Sunday\, August 27. We’re looking forward to a nice summer Sunday afternoon of great cars\, great food\, and great friends. \n\n\n\nThere’s a $10 park entrance fee (per vehicle)\, and we’ll be at the Rivergrove picnic shelter. \n\n\n\nWe plan to gather at 11am\, have some coffee and car talk\, and then we’ll fire up the grills about 12:30 for brats and hot dogs. We’ll be providing the brats and hot dogs\, cole slaw and potato salad\, and water. Feel free to BYO beverages and other picnic food if you’d like. \n\n\n\nWe’ll have our picnic shelter for shade\, and the park has a playground for the kids\, walking paths along the Huron River to enjoy\, and a disc golf course. \n\n\n\nDriving tour guru Randy Mason will lead an informal drive later in the afternoon along some of the best back roads in the area\, starting and ending at the park\, so come with a full tank of gas and be ready for some fun with your car! \n\n\n\nPlease send an email to membership@motorcitybmwcca.org to let us know you’re planning to join us\, so we can get a count and do our shopping.
