Spring Drive to Hagerty in Traverse City

We’ve just wrapped up the initial planning for our Spring Drive to Hagerty in Traverse City set for May 21. It looks great–our friends at Hagerty have put together a great dinner and wonderful program at the Hagerty Garage for the evening. We’re excited that Michiana Chapter will be joining us. And Hagerty has secured good rates at two of Traverse City’s nicest hotels. (The rates not only are favorable, but good for the single night of May 21-22, at a time when many Traverse City hotels require two-night stays.) We’re planning the route for the drive up to Traverse City, but the drive back (and the number of days you stay) is up to you. Here are the details:
Registration: Hagerty has set up registration for the event on Motorsportreg.com. If you’re not already a member at Motorsportreg, signing up is easy. There’s no charge to register for the event, but you must be a Motor City or Michiana BMW CCA member (a member can also register a guest). The Motorsportreg link for the event is HERE. Be sure to sign up soon–registration is limited.
Hotel information: Check-in is Saturday, May 21 / Check-out, Sunday, May 22. We have a limited number of rooms at two hotels available at the favorable rates (cutoff date, April1)

Our driving tour gurus are working on the route now, including the departure time and place, so keep an eye on this space. We’re excited about seeing you in May!
If your not a member or a guest of a member does this mean you can’t take the drive to Traverse city?
Nope, anyone is welcome to join us for all or any part of the drive. But on Saturday evening in Traverse City, Hagerty is hosting the group at the Hagerty Garage. For that you would have to be a member and to have registered already (the registration deadline was in April). If you’re interested in being on a waitlist for that (in case we have someone cancel), let us know at treasurer@motocitybmwcca.org.
Hello, long time BMW owner and new CCA member. I registered for the event on motorsportsreg back in early April so good for Hagerty garage; but haven’t heard anything about the drive up. Unfortunately I missed the booking deadline for hotels so we’ll be staying at another location. Do we have the route almost wrapped up? – Also I look forward to formally meeting everyone.
William, welcome to the Motor City chapter! Yes, the route is almost ready. We’re planning to leave about 9:30 on May 21 from Nikolas Motorsport, with an arrival in TC by 4 pm. There will be rest stops and a stop for lunch. For folks living way west of Nikolas Motorsport or who otherwise can’t join us for the Cars & Coffee that morning, we can meet up at one of the rest stops or at our lunch stop. We expect to have the route more or less final in a couple of days. Look forward to meeting you!
Awesome, yes I’ll probably have to catch up en route. I’m about 15 mins west of 23 (hour from Nikolas). – Just let me know ETA/location for rest stop or lunch which one and we’ll be there. Thanks!
Great–we’re driving the route one last time this weekend to make sure the roads are still there! We expect to post or email the route Monday.
